At Homebody Designed, we’re constantly dreaming up ways to make spaces feel both elevated and deeply comforting—and this time, we’re doing it in our own home.
This design board is our working concept for the powder room in our townhome. It’s a small space, but we wanted it to make a memorable impression while staying true to the cozy, classic aesthetic we love.

We started with Black Fox by Sherwin-Williams, a deep, moody brown-black that will cover all the millwork—wainscoting, crown molding, and even the ceiling—for a fully wrapped, cocoon-like feel. The contrast it creates against the large-scale vinyl mural wallpaper, with its pastoral etching design, is dramatic in the best way: bold, but rooted in tradition.
A light natural wood vanity topped with marble softens the mood, bringing in organic warmth and timeless structure. Brass fixtures throughout—lighting, faucet, mirror, and hardware—add just the right hint of polish and age.
We’re also considering wide-plank natural oak flooring, not just for this room, but potentially throughout the house. Nothing is finalized yet—it’s all still concept—but this material is top of our list for adding quiet warmth and continuity to the home.
Even though this powder room is just one corner of our home, we see it as a little jewel box—a place where we can really showcase our design point of view. It's cozy, refined, and just a bit unexpected.
And if—or when—this concept becomes a reality, I’ll be sure to share photos of the finished space.
